Avatars

A thousand yard stare. An Avatar is looking straight at the camera towards you. Lifeless, but once eye contact is made, the Avatar’s eyes start to flutter, first the left eye then the right. Learning how to blink for the first time, synchronizing time. Slowly the Avatar’s chest fills with air. You start noticing life, the Avatar begins to breathe, feeling at ease. Smiling slowly you notice the corners of the Avatar’s mouth curls up towards their sparkling eyes. You notice the reflective pupils are tears gathering. Forming puddles around their lower lashes. Until finally she laughs, breaking the silence, while the tears fall. A sigh of relief, release, and joy all within a split-second transfer of emotional resonance.

She bursts. Scattering into a thousand stars. You are partially worried, yet can’t explain what just happened. The space engulfs you into geometric patterns and shapes formed by the light that remains. An extra-dimensional space, where what matters most isn’t the form you once experienced, but rather the presence. A new heightened sense of awareness takes over. Sight becomes touch, hearing becomes taste, touch becomes sight, taste becomes scent, scent becomes touch. An inverted world of senses.

A redefining moment of culture. Where deeply caring about things, matter.
